Love the plate

Love the plate. I wanted a plate over something like the lemur strap so I could use it with a gun sling and have my camera lay flat compared to attached from the top. Perfect for what it is and I feel a lot safer using this than similar versions on Amazon. Also aesthetically pleasing so that’s a plus. My only hope in the fire is the machining gets a little tighter but that isn’t a big issue and I still 100% trust it.

This is a great system - I had my own strap so I only got the baseplate

This is a great system - I had my own strap so I only got the baseplate, but if I were starting from scratch I would get the whole system - it makes so much sense. Adds pretty much as much weight as a JJC baseplate/handle, so not much, but securely holds the camera when clicked in, while allowing very rapid removal of the camera when needed. I have had tons of shots that might have been missed as I wouldn't have been able to wedge my arm into strange positions (especially when taking pictures of children, who often don't allow you to get into a kneeling position or to set up for a good shot)

The only recommendations I would make for a MK2 is to allow the baseplate a little more adjustability, and to make the system one-hand operable e.g. using one's little finger or something to release the catch.

Very much recommended overall.
