Comes with the shoulder strap and baseplate (including the tripod adapter). The baseplate also includes one onboard T-25 wrench found in a compartment underneath the pad on the bottom of the baseplate.

Functional and stylish baseplate

  • The patented baseplate attaches to the bottom of the camera via a quick release universal tripod adapter while the strap connects to the corners of the baseplate. This configuration ensures that the camera rests flat and securely against your body, lens pointing down and the screen pointing up. The camera is always stable.

  • Unlike with other straps, it won't rotate around your body or flop this way and that. And because the screen faces up, it won't get scratched by belt buckles or rivets on your jeans, and is readily available for fast in-hand editing.

  • Our baseplate design is compatible with major camera manufacturers such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, and more!

Quick release, ARCA style tripod adapter

  • Optimized for secure connection and fast coupling/uncoupling, our baseplate takes ordinary camera carrying to a new level, allowing for seamless changes between camera bodies and switches from strap to tripod to other camera accessories.

  • Attach the tripod adapter to almost any camera and leave it there. Throw the strap over your shoulder and snap your camera into the baseplate. Swing the camera to rest on your back and forget about it until you're ready to get the shot.

  • Our tripod adapter plate is a standard ARCA Swiss shape and size and fits your favorite Peak Design gear as well as major tripod manufacturers. *Note: There are variations in the specifications of "ARCA Swiss" quick-release plates from different manufacturers. Our tripod adapter plate may not be compatible with all other "ARCA Swiss" products.

Quick release pin

  • Easily accessed on the baseplate, press it in and release your camera from the baseplate.

  • Your camera can now roam free enabling you to shoot from a worm's eye view or hold your camera high above your head to shoot. No need to take the strap off your shoulder. Just click the camera back in the baseplate after getting the shot.

Locking cam buckle

  • The cam buckle, located on the shoulder pad, locks your camera into position and keeps it in place so you can forget it's there, freeing you up to use both hands to climb a wall, ride a bike, or eat a street taco.

  • To access your camera simply reach up, unlock the buckle, and bring your camera to your eye in an instant. No more dragging the strap over your shoulder. Unlike other straps, LemurStrap won’t catch on your clothing and slow you down.

Comfortable silicone shoulder pad

  • Subtle and soft, the shoulder pad clings to your shoulder with grippy raised lemur paws on its body contact side. Utilizing our unique patented mechanism, the webbing strap glides through the shoulder pad, allowing the camera to move freely.

Hidden tool compartment

  • During LemurStrap’s development, field-testing feedback inspired us to design an onboard attachment, removal, and adjustment tool. We did that!

Love It!

Switched from the peak design system for the Lemur strap and have zero regrets. The locking shoulder mechanism and allowing it to freely slide has been great. I use a lot of heavy lenses so being able to sling it around my shoulder, lens down, has been nice. Highly reccomended!

The part that surprised me...

The part that surprised me was how much I like how the retaining clip on the strap and the shoulder pad work together. Unclip, slide up, take picture, slide down, and clip. Everything is secure.

This is the best strap I’ve ever owned but could still use a few tweaks

This is the best strap I’ve ever owned but could still use a few tweaks. I want to start by saying that (like peak design’s universal camera clip system), I love that the Lemur Strap base plate can be installed on each of my cameras so I can seamlessly use the strap with all of them. I love how the camera actually sits flat on my back and stays in place until I’m ready to use it. I prefer to shoot landscapes and I like to hike, bike, camp, fish, and occasionally climb so it’s nice to finally have a strap that keeps my camera from bouncing around during these activities.

One of the (many) positives about the bottom-quick-release strap mount is that I can slide the camera around to the front and easily snap a few photos - without strap points in the way; or using the quick release button I can completely remove the camera from the straps and use it freely; because the straps are anchored to the bottom of the camera I now have my cameras (typical) strap-anchor points free, so I personally like to keep my peak design wrist strap attached for when I remove my camera from the Lemur Strap baseplate…”Best of both worlds”.

There are only a couple of reasons I didn’t give the Lemur Strap a full 5 stars - I wish I could give half ratings because I’d rather give it a 4.5 than 4. 1st, upon initial release, the strap tethers rubbed against the metal anchor points which caused the strap to disconnect from the baseplate; fortunately I felt the weight change and somehow caught my camera behind my back before it slammed to the ground. The company did send better clips shortly after this since this was an issue with others. But the wear it had already put on the strap tether points is a little concerning for future use. So, as an early (kick starter) supporter, I would have hoped for a resolution that replaced the strap tether since I’ll likely have to buy a whole new strap soon or potentially they could tweak the design to have replaceable tether points if the fray issues continue on... onto my only other complaint about the Lemur Strap - I was under the impression that the universal baseplate (mounted to the bottom of the camera) would work flawlessly with the peak design capture clip; my baseplates are a little hard to get in and out of my capture clip system, also, I feel like the baseplate could use better grip between it and the camera as I’ve had issues with it when I shoot in a vertical orientation on the tripod - I have had quite a few long exposure photos ruined from the camera loosening from the baseplate.Maybe these baseplates weren’t designed to be used as tripod plates as well, but if I’m going to have something permanently mounted to on the bottom (where the tripod screw is), then I need it to work as a universal system. If I have to constantly take it off or have to worry about it coming loose, it will likely deter me from using it as much.

All of this said, I believe in this product and this company, I really believe it deserves 4.5 stars, and I’d bet money that they are constantly working through the kinks to improve the strap. I knew there would be some stuff that that would need improving since I got the first model on Kickstarter…

Even with the small flaws, this is still the best camera strap I’ve ever owned.

When it comes to the tethers, we are definitely more than happy to exchange your strap for a new one, as we do not want this to become a bigger issue for you in the future.

As for the Capture Clip compatibility, we engineered our tripod adapter to work with the newest version of the Capture, and we have heard reports from other users that it doesn't work perfectly in older versions. Could this perhaps be the case for you?

And finally, we have heard a similar report from a few other users that the tripod adapter comes gradually loose. For most of these folks, a shorter screw fixed the problem. We would be happy to send you one to try. Let us know if you would like to give it a shot and we can send it with the new strap.
